Sewing

Saturday hubby had to work so Ash and I let Yguy sleep and she worked on this.

She did most of it on her own 90% of it. There were tucks, gathers, and velcro but she did a great job. She had such a smile on her face when she was done. She asked me to do the gathers at first to show her and then away she went.

Our sewing table is an antique writing desk that was my grandmothers. We love it, it sits in the living room and has drawers and nooks and crannies to store stuff. My sewing box and some of the simples are hers as well. One of the skirts I made last week I used thread that matched the fabric perfect the thread was one my grandmother bought for 10 cents. Her needles and many other things bring me great joy to use. And now pass on the love of sewing to my daughter.

  1. Hello!

How wonderful! She did such a great job too! I am very impressed. Antique desks are the best too - I have one that I use as my writing desk. I love old furniture! :)
