Some might say, YES! But, I feel this is just another step in learning to do for myself.
I started by reading this post and thought it would be easy to do. I was getting arrowroot in my next order of herbal stuff, so why not jump in and try making my own deodorant.
Heck, I use homemade apple cidar vinegar and baking soda to wash my hair. Why not branch into making my own deodorant with almost the same ingredients.
1/4 c baking soda (I used Red Mill aluminum free)
1/4 c arrowroot
4-6 Tbsp of coconut oil
(you can add a couple drops of your fav essential oil)
mix together and put in a little jar, mine is in the above photo.
I really like it, and I have been sweating my butt off in the garden, picking at a upick, and many other outside sweating related things.
I am a sweater, I don't get damp, I get drenched, and I still love this. It works just as well as storebought without all the nasty ingredients. I have not been using it that long (2 weeks) and I did not use it at girls camp I brought a storebought deodorant...just in case.
I will update later, as I have with the no poo Ash and I have been doing. For me it has been almost a year of no poo and I love it still, so we will see about this.
Have a blessed day,
Love Erika
No, you have not gone too far...you are just doing what comes natural to you - to live simply.
ReplyDeleteDear Erika,
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a wonderful recipe! I've been "powdering" myself with a mixture of bentonite clay and cornstarch; it makes a big difference in the heat!
Love,
