Simple Woman's Daybook Jan 4,2010

FOR TODAY: Jan 4, 2010 (I am writing this on Sunday afternoon late)
Outside my window...

The golden sun is setting the light is filtering through the trees and splashing everything with gold sunbeams..It is brisk but still a lovely day.

I am thinking..

of the week ahead and all that it entails. The women's conference our Stake Relief Society is putting on at the end of the month. Being secretary doesn't make me immune to the major list of things that need to be done leading up to the wonderful event. We are all so excited for this.

I am thankful for...

the blessings sitting around me my hubby, daughter and son. Oh and the furry family members begging for popcorn that the others are munching on. The brisk cool weather we are having and the warm home we have. Everything I have taken for granted and am realizing how much of a blessing they are.

From the learning rooms...

We are studing the Ancient World this year and really enjoying it. The kids are really into Greek and Roman Myths right now. I am stressing spelling and handwriting this year it seems to be something that is lacking and so lots of writing and spelling have been on the books.

From the kitchen...

We broke our fast today with chicken enchiladas and carrot salad. It was all very yummy!

I am wearing...

Earlier today I wore a skirt I made this past week I just loved wearing it. I also had on a pink turtle neck and sweater I bought off a clearance rack for half off LOVE IT the turtle neck for 50cents at the thrift store! Right now I am wearing another skirt I made a long tiered skirt that is green with bright flowers all over it. It is very loud but so fun to wear! Yguy likes it he said today at lunch. I only wear it at home it and it kinda makes for a fun day.
Monday: I am wearing a long corduroy skirt (wonderful thrift store find) socks my feet are cold right now and a green, blue, and white plaidish flannel button up. It is a mans top but so warm on these winter days. An apron will be added at soon as I start breakfast I think maybe the white eyelet one today.

I am creating...

crocheted coasters for our cups. I am also making dish clothes and getting ready to cut out a new skirt or rob or blouse haven't decided yet. But the fabric is screaming to be used.

I am going...

to hopefully sleep well tonight and wake early to a wonderful Monday.

Monday morning: I am up early, I have set a goal to get up at 4 to get stuff done like blogging so it doesn't take up any of my day ad it can be devoted to the children. I am hoping to change a few things I do during the day with them to better improve my example to them.

I am reading...

Nothing at the moment but would love some wonderful suggestions. I am thinking of requesting a book about Tasha Tudor tomorrow at the library.

I am hoping...

to have a wonderful week without the stress of the world creeping in our home

I am hearing...

My daughter running water in the kitchen

Monday Morning: peace and quiet the house isn't even awake yet. The dogs aren't even stirring. I am getting ready to turn on some classical music, our music study this year I put on a playlist and I think I will start the day with that today.

Around the house...

We are relaxing on this nice cool Sunday and loving the peace we have after church.

One of my favorite things...

The simple but affective lessons Heavenly Father leaves in my path some like bright beacons in a thick fog yet some sutle and quiet.

A few plans for the rest of the week:

school, a meeting, seminary for Ash, Library, errands, and the many things I do to bless my family

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
Sasha the cat watching a movie with Yguy on Sunday afternoon. She was very enthralled with it till the camera flashed and then she was interested in me.

  1. If you want a good read try "The Shack" by Wm. Paul Young; if you haven't already read it. It made me laugh, cry, and feel loved by God.

  2. thanks for dropping by my blog. Yeah, the grocery delivery is nice. Order online in the comfort of my own home, alter my order as many times as i like right up until midnight the night before (or later with some stores), pay a SMALL extra fee, and someone else does all the wandering round the store, someone else does all the bagging up and someone else drives it to my house, not bad at all.

Only problem with todays delivery might be the snow which is coming down right now.
