No Poo...

Its been two weeks of being no poo and I love it!

I have a jar of baking soda with a spoon and a bottle of apple cidar vinegar in the bathroom. When I take a shower I put a tablespoon and half of baking soda in an empty jar, fill with warm water, and pour that over my head and massage it into my scape. I let it set for a minute or two and rinse. I have long hair but I don't worry about this mixture covering all my hair just my scalp.

After I use the soda I put a tablespoon or so of apple cidar vinegar in the jar and fill with water. I pour this over the ends of hair a pint jar full pours over my 18 inches of hair just fine. I let it sit for a few minutes and rinse.

I love it, I have noticed a big difference and I hope to stay using this method.  I encourage everyone to try it.

Have a Blessed Day.

  1. So, I would love to try this! I make my own hairspray, and it's great! I have a few questions though. Do you think this would work on oily hair? Mine is very oily! And, does your hair soak up the vinegar smell too much at all?

I think it's wonderful that you love it and it's working - I really would love to give it a try for myself! :)

  2. Dear Erika,

Wonderful! I already rinse my hair with vinegar, but I'll have to keep some soda by the shower, as well.

  3. Emily,

It will work fine with oily hair. From what I have read the oily hair is from using shampoos. It might take a transition period. But I see no problem.

I have had oily hair and really oily skin but right now I'm in a faz of dry scalp with dandruff and dry skin. Our bodies change throughout the years.

The vinegar smell I haven't noticed after my hair drys. When it is wet at first I can just a little but not to much. LOL Only if I pull my hair up under my nose and take a big whiff.

I have noticed now after 2 weeks that I have almost no dandruff and my scalp isn't as itchy. And I have used dandruff shampoo since moving here and it has never worked.

I don't let the vinegar touch my scalp only the baking soda. The vinegar is for conditioning the ends.

  5. Dear Erika,

How wonderful that this is working so well for you. I have yet to try it...but it is something to keep in mind for the future :)

I wonder if it will work on curly hair.

In the meantime, enjoy your beautifl, shinny locks :)

  6. I am glad to hear it! I think I really am going to try it. While being pregnant, my hair has really changed and shampoo just is not working. It's more oily and just will not shape well into what I want it to. It's interesting how our hair changes over the years! Mine has gotten a bit of curl in it as I get older too! lol Thanks for getting back to me! I think next week I am going to start and see what happens! :) Have a great day!

    Love,
    Emily
