apple crisp

This is the only picture that came out clear this is just before I added the topping to the delightful recipe. The first time I made it was Easter weekend which happen to be General Conference weekend for our church. I mixed it altogether along with our lunch and carried it to church in our lunch basket. I popped it into the oven 30 minutes before we ate lunch and it was heavenly! So this recipe does well with mixing ahead and baking a little later.

Recently I made it with fresh picked wild blueberries or huckleberries Ash and I picked and it was really good I just omitted the cinnamon.

Apple Crisp

Preheat Oven to 375

3 c sliced or chopped apples
1 tbsp flour (I use wheat)
1/4 sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp salt
1 tbsp water

Lay this in the bottom of a cassarole dish

Cut together with a pastry blender or just use your hand or potato masher I use the latter two.

1/2 c rolled oats
1/4 tsp salt
1/2c butter
1/3 c brown sugar

sprinkle on top of the cassarole mixture and bake for 35 minutes.

Hubby says this would be, "really really good," with vanilla ice cream. :0)

I will be back Monday with an account of Girls Camp and Ash and I are alone next week since the boys will be at scout camp all week.

Have a Blessed Day,

Erika
